2023 Virtual Exchange & 2024 GDC Program
We are excited to announce we have chosen the grantees for our programs!
Back in April, the IGDA Foundation opened the annual application process for two of their key programs - Virtual Exchange and GDC. The application garnered a record-breaking count of over 750 applications!
Our amazing leadership, board, and volunteers, the majority of whom were previous VE and GDC grantees of years prior, reviewed every single application and meticulously read the passion and motivation of each applicant. With only roughly 75 open slots, the competition was fierce like never before.

Now in its fourth year, the Virtual Exchange provides exceptional learning opportunities from accomplished video games industry professionals to aid grantees. The six-week program offers workshops, coaching, and more with individualized mentorship from industry experts.
In 2024, the IGDA Foundation will bring back its in-person GDC programming for the first time since 2019. This program was first established in 2007 and gives individuals from underrepresented communities around the globe a chance to attend GDC, learn more about the industry, and connect with experienced mentors face-to-face.
