Dr. JC Lau
In addition to being a producer at ProbablyMonsters with experience developing multiple award-winning video games, Dr. JC Lau leverages her academic expertise in political philosophy as a DEI advocate in the games industry. She has founded multiple studio diversity committees and regularly speaks at conferences including the Game Developers Conference, PAX, and Emerald City Comicon. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Kotaku, Variety, and GameDeveloper.com . JC was featured as one of 2021’s Game Changers by GamesIndustry.biz , and is a member of the inaugural #QueerInGames list in 2021, and #ShePlaysGames list in 2022. She also is the creator of #WhatAGameDevLooksLike, a movement to share and celebrate the diversity in the games industry. She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Global Game Jam, and a board member of IGDA’s Seattle chapter. Her game credits include Destiny 2 and its expansions, and BattleTech.
