About the Foundation

The IGDA Foundation assists the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) in its mission to enhance and enrich the professional lives of its members. The IGDA is a member organization comprised of, and benefiting, individuals engaged in the creation of computer and video games.

The Foundation performs charitable, scientific and educational works with funds contributed by members of the community and is, to our knowledge at least, the only charity for game developers by game developers. We support the global development community in many ways through our active programs, and are always keen to hear ideas about new ways we can work to make a difference.

The Foundation was established in 2006 in part by Tom Buscaglia and Neil Kirby who have participated on its Board of Trustees since its inception. Tom served as chair until 2014, when incumbent Luke Dicken assumed the mantle.
